ART 43 — Art Appreciation: 1900 to Present

Description

This course covers the art basics, including various art studio techniques, elements and principles, art criticism, aesthetics, and art history from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. 8 lessons, 8 assignment submissions (6 Speedback assignments, 2 instructor-graded assignments); proctored final exam.

Students must furnish a #2 or HB pencil, drawing paper (8 1/2" x 11" or 8" x 10"), kneaded or white plastic eraser, and ruler. They must also furnish two of the following: oil pastels, chalk pastels, colored pencils, crayons, inexpensive set of watercolor paints, tempera paint, charcoal, black ink.
