Vocal Beauty Boot Camp August 5-8, 2008

REGISTRATION AND TUITION

This workshop is designed for women and men ages 18 and older. Save by registering early! Registration will be open until July 20, 2010 or until the program fills.

There are three convenient ways to register:

    8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. MST on weekdays, excluding holidays.

Following registration, you will receive a receipt of payment and confirmation materials by e-mail or in the mail. To allow us time to prepare needed materials and mail you course materials, registration by these three methods will close on Tuesday, July 20, at midnight. After that time, if space is available, you may register on the first day of the program, Tuesday, August 3, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the third-floor lobby of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU.

* The two textbooks and DVD are required, but since some of you may have already purchased the books, we offer them as optional add–ons. Textbooks and DVDs are not refundable or returnable.

PREPARING FOR THE COURSE

  1. Read Beautiful Singing: Mind Warp Moments in its entirety before August 3.
  2. Watch the new DVD, Beautiful Singing: Not Just for the Chosen.
  3. Memorize and prepare to sing (required):  “I Stand All Amazed,”
    “Abide with Me,” and “How Firm a Foundation” from the Sabbath Song I Songbook.  An accompaniment CD comes with the songbook to help you learn these songs.

In addition, you may also bring piano accompaniment music for your own memorized selection.

BYU EMPLOYEE/SPOUSE TUITION BENEFIT
Because the Vocal Beauty Boot Camp has a credit option, eligible BYU employees and their spouses may receive a university tuition benefit for the amount of tuition. It is not mandatory that the employee or spouse choose the credit option in order to receive the tuition benefit. BYU Benefits will not cover additional fees for textbooks and materials. Registrants can confirm their eligibility when finalizing registration online. If you have questions about your eligibility for tuition benefits, call BYU Benefits at 801-422-4716.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS
Until July 20, you can go online and withdraw yourself from the program and housing with no processing fee charges. After July 20, refund requests must be submitted in writing and a processing fee of $50 will be charged for each cancellation. Campus housing fees will not be refundable. Once purchased, textbooks and DVDs are not refundable or returnable. Send refund requests to BYU Choral Academy, 352 Harman Continuing Education Building, Provo, UT  84602.

UNIVERSITY STANDARDS
Workshop participants are required to maintain the standards of Brigham Young University while attending the program, including abstinence from tobacco, coffee, tea, alcohol, and harmful drugs while on the campus. The BYU dress and grooming standards emphasize clothing that is modest in fabric, fit, style, and length.

MAXIMIZING YOUR VISIT TO PROVO

  • Come together with a friend interested in the BYU Organ Workshop held on the same days as the Vocal Beauty Boot Camp at BYU.
  • Combine Boot Camp attendance with a summer vacation in Utah. Provo is within a day’s drive of some of the most spectacular natural beauty in the world: Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Lake Powell, Arches National Monument and Dead Horse Point, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park, Capitol Reef, Dinosaur National Monument, Sundance, Park City, etc.
  • Coming to Provo for BYU’s August graduation (August 12–13)? Arrive a week early, attend our Boot Camp, and spend the days in between with family or friends.
