Anthony Roberts

Anthony Roberts, artist-in-residence at St. Olaf College, has recently focused on integrating information technology and video production into learning environments and performance.  A performer, teacher, and choreographer, Anthony received his MFA from Arizona State University, which focused on dance and computer technology and where he wrote, choreographed, composed, and produced an evening-length, interdisciplinary, and technologically mediated work that explored end-of-life issues.  He has performed with Ririe-Woodbury, Repertory Dance Theatre, Sharir Dance, and Melrose Motion and was chosen to work and tour internationally with Jacob’s Pillow’s Men Dancers: the Ted Shawn Legacy.  His company experience allowed him to perform in the choreographies of such luminaries as Ted Shawn, José Limón, Pilobolus, Garth Fagan, Stephen Petronio, Charles Weidman, Helen Tamiris, Merce Cunningham, Laura Dean, Elisa Monte, Bill Evans, Douglas Dunn, Margaret Jenkins, and Della Davidson.

Janice and Anthony serve as coartistic directors of Companydance at St. Olaf College’s student modern dance company.  Partners in life and dance, Janice and Anthony live in Northfield, Minnesota with their two lovely daughters.
